This commercial spot called for a “popup book” effect similar to the one our studio did for the movie Enchanted.
We shot the footage planning for certain vignettes to be frozen and broken apart to create the popup elements. In some cases entire sections of the image had to be modified to fit the popup look, and we had to fake quite a number of things (but hey, that’s what we’re good at.)
I helped plan and execute both of the popup effects, and I cut out and prepped all the elements. I worked with the rest of our team to make them happen, and implement the difficult transitions from one scene to the next.
I also had to rebuild the end card graphic with the red Transamerica building, as well as do final online / color.
